Before: This room started out as a boring bedroom with outdated window treatments, wallpaper and furnishings.

After: The design concept was to create a sophisticated bedroom filled with charm and timeless tradition. The room was lacking architectural detail, to solve that problem we installed new baseboard, crown moldings and finished the wood floor. Furnishings on the smaller scale were chosen to fill the space comfortably. To take advantage of the natural light, elegant window treatments were created with silk fabrics, which were kept off the glass to allow for the light to flow through. The room’s focal point is a sleigh bed dressed in exquisite silk bedding that contributes to the room’s warm glow. Pillows with dressmaking details are artfully placed on the bed. The finishing touches include family collections, accessories and beautiful artwork.

To complete the charming character of this Victorian Home, new ornate crown moldings were added. Old light fixtures were replaced with a fabulous Schonbek chandelier, which is just the right scale for this room. To further complement the room, new luxurious window treatments were added and the walls were painted with a pleasant shade of cream.

The same crown moldings were carried to the Front Parlor of this Victorian Home. Elegant window treatments embellished with bullion fringe make a great statement in the room. To compliment the jewel tones of the textiles we chose a soft color for the walls.

Before   After
We haven't changed much in this room, just added new window treatments and a wall color, but what a transformation. Simple French pleated panels mounted on the antique gold hardware were selected to compliment the modern interior of this home. To let the natural light in we kept draperies away from the glass. Slate blue color from the area rug was extended on to the walls.

Just another example showing that a gallon of paint can go a long way. Sophisticated window treatments and caramel wall color create a warm and inviting atmosphere for a family dinner. We chose a black finish for the hardware to compliment the black details of the furniture.
